A Halloween Table Scape for Formal Dining

If you're like me and no longer have small children for trick-or-treating and other typical Halloween festivities, that doesn't mean you can't still have a little fun and enjoy some time with family and friends on this festive night. One fun idea is to invite some close friends over for an elegant meal and enjoy a little candle light entertaining.

With this idea in mind, I looked through items I already had on hand and picked up a few items at my local dollar store to put together a magical Halloween table scape with adult sophistication.

To keep the room from being too dark and heavy, I used a white table cloth and laid black netting in the center for the base of the decor.  I used a couple of gold busts I had on hand, as well as an antique oil lamp as the focal point of the table.  A couple of carnival glass cake pedestals held the busts surrounded by various pumpkins, faux fall leaves, acorns, a black and gold feather boa, and black birds.  A touch of black floral branches and lit candles surrounded by moss completed the look, reminiscent of a "Murder Mystery" dinner.

As you can see, it doesn't take alot of money, just a little imagination,  to host friends for a night of good food and fun memories.
