River trips, the fair, and fall

Before fall weather arrived and our schedules got so busy, Scott and I found time to go canoeing with some friends for the day. A canoe trip was on my Summer Bucket List, so I was excited to go back and mark off one more thing!

We had a great day on the Ocmulgee River and were even treated to a fish fry when we got back to town.  It's not very often I get a chance to eat fish so it was a real treat!

I waited until the first official day of fall to get my fall decorating items down from the attic.  I keep things pretty simple on the front porch with pumpkins and a burlap pumpkin door hanger.  We enjoy our porch this time of the year when it's not so hot and buggy out.  I'm especially looking forward to next fall now because I hope to have our back porch screened in by next spring.  Having a closed in space will allow me to really cozy things up and I think we will really enjoy that space even more.

Lucy is enjoying this fall weather too!

Dillan managed to find time to sneak away from Atlanta for the weekend and came home last week.  We took a trip to the Georgia National Fair in Perry, GA that Saturday.

We've been going to this fair for YEARS now and I highly recommend it. It's only about a 40 minute drive from the house.  There is so much to see....from exhibits to food and animals and lots of entertainment.

We even made time for a quick photo shoot.  Dillan wanted some new content for his blog and I'm always looking for opportunities to get better with my camera.

My absolute favorite thing about the fair is the funnel cake. It's like the highlight of my night. Every. Single. Year!  With all the walking we do, who's counting calories?

On the way out, I always snap a picture of this scene from across the pond.  So pretty!

I love my little family and enjoy spending time with them. We don't have time together like we used to since Dillan moved to Atlanta, so I try to make every minute count.  Sometimes it hanging around the house drinking coffee and catching up. Other times it road trips, hiking, or dinner out.

Already looking forward to our next fair trip next year.
