Birthdays, holidays, and prom dates

The past couple of months have been a whirlwind of activity!  Lots of fun stuff going on this spring, but I'm about ready to take a "breather" and am dreaming of a beach vacation.  Anyway, I wanted to share some pics from Dillan's 21st birthday, Easter, and prom.

Dillan made the decision not to go to his own Junior or Senior proms when he was in high school.  So I have grieved the fact that I didn't have prom pictures of my boy :.(

But Mallory, one of Dillan's best friends is a senior this year and asked him to take her to her last high school prom.  Y'all.....they were just beautiful!  Two young people so beautiful on the inside and out.  Needless to say, I took lots and lots of pictures.  And now I have prom pics on the blog to document his life.  Yay, me!  I can only imagine what this blog would look like if blogs existed when he was born.

I also had a nephew and niece attending, so it was fun to see all of them at one big event like this.  Evan is a junior and Autumn a sophomore and they and their dates looked amazing as well!

Some years Dillan's birthday is close to Easter, so instead of him coming home two weekends in a row this year, he just came home for Easter and we celebrated his 21st with family during Easter lunch.

His birthday fell during the week, so on the weekend before, we went up to Atlanta and took him out to eat at The Cheesecake Factory and to do some shopping.  His Grandma Robyn met us and it was so nice to be able to spend some time with her.  I love to shop, but I do believe Dillan gets his love for shopping from her :)

The following day, Dillan took us to Sweetwater Creek State Park outside of Atlanta to hike.  He found the place a while back and was dying for us to go see it.  So as part of his birthday adventure, we took a very long hike with him....probably 5-6 miles!

It's a beautiful place and I'd love to go back now that everything is green and in bloom.  It's like being in the mountains....so peaceful. It was a little chilly that day, so we had to layer up, but it was a beautiful day for a hike.

While visiting, I was able to help Dillan work on his gallery wall in his bedroom.  I still haven't done a post about his new place....maybe soon.  He has 3 roommates now, so his bedroom is the only room really decorated with only his things.  It's a beautiful apartment though and much nicer than his former place.  They have a beautiful view and even a swimming pool to enjoy.

Dillan's been really busy lately.  He's just been signed by another modeling agency there in Atlanta, so we're real excited about that.  He's also been chosen to play a role in two different independent films and was hand-picked by the directors themselves for the parts.  A couple of weeks ago, he was filmed as the "love interest" in a music video by a new, up-and-coming group too.  I can't wait to see it!

Well, that's about it for now.  It's been storming here off and on today, so I'm glad I had a chance to get some blogging done.  More updates soon!

Happy Birthday, Dillan! Lynn, my youngest just recently turned 21, too. Tell me, where in the world does the time go? By the way, you take really great pictures. I can see Dillan going far in his career. He certainly has the looks to be a well known model or famous movie star.

Hooray for The Cheesecake Factory. It's one of my favorite places to eat and I was there just this past weekend with my family to celebrate my own birthday. Well, I hope you're having a delightful week so far. Blessings to you... :)
