What's goin' on?

I know it seems like I've fallen off the face of the earth.  But I'm still here!    I just took a little break from blogging to get recharged and get my creative juices flowing again.  And believe me...it's hard! My mind is still consumed with all I'm learning for my new job.  It's hard to concentrate on anything else right now.  The perfectionist in me has been a little stressed trying to know everything way too soon.

I'm sure there's alot that's gone on, but I'll just use some pics from my iphone to summarize life around these parts lately :)  With Thanksgiving tomorrow and Christmas coming up, there will be so much to blog about....got to get caught up!

Patriot Homecoming

Y'all know I love me some high school football!  It's been another hard year for our young team, but I've enjoyed it nevertheless.

The Homecoming game is always alot of fun!  We were especially proud of our pastor's daughter, Mallory for making the court.  She's such a sweet, talented young lady.  She not only represents her school well, but she represents Christ well.

Doesn't she and her dad look awesome?!  And we won the game, so Yay!!!!

The "100 Mile Peanut Pickin Yard Sale"

Scott and I went to our first "100 Mile Peanut Pickin' Yard Sale".  It's nothing compared to "Peaches to the Beaches", but we enjoyed our day together.  We picked up a few things and I was excited to find this small file cabinet for my office area.  Only paid $25.00 for it!  You'll see a picture of it later after it was sprayed and put in its place.

We celebrated my Pepapa's 90th Birthday in October.

Every year that we have him in our lives means so much to us.  He has been such a huge influence on our family's faith in God and I can't imagine life without him in it.  I hope God blesses us with many more years with him.

I think this is the first time in a long time that me and all of my sisters have been there to celebrate it with him.  That made it even more special :)

Lucy goes to ATL and Phantom of the Opera

Lucy went on her first trip to Atlanta to see her brother in October.  She's not a fan of riding, so it's always a challenge to travel that far.  But we made it....thanks to her anxiety meds!

Dillan lives in the middle of downtown Atlanta, so a nearby park was the closest place to potty.  Lucy didn't know what to think about all the traffic, but she liked the park alot.

The main purpose of the trip was to go see "Phantom of the Opera" at The Fox Theatre.  We had wanted to go for a long time and finally got around to purchasing tickets.  Y'all, it was so good!

While there, we also found a little time to go thrifting.  I've been collecting things to do a gallery wall in our newly decorated living room and found just the right stuff to finish it!  Pictures will be up soon.

The fun thing about a gallery wall is the eclectic mix of things you love...even things you may not think could go together.  I really liked these two blue hand painted pieces.  I thought it was neat that they found there way to Atlanta, Georgia all the way from Fall River, WI! And they look great with the other pieces on the wall!

Our high school softball team had a great season this year.  They were Region Champions and earned the right to play in the state playoffs.

My niece, Autumn is on the team.  She is one of their pitchers and also plays left field.  I always enjoy when I get a chance to watch her or her younger sister play. I'm so proud of her and her team mates.  They were State Runner-Up!  Way to go, Lady Patriots!

Autum pitching

Halloween was on Friday night this year.  But it wasn't just any Friday night.  It was Football Friday Night!

Me & Shaana

We're big football fans and love to wear our school colors.  So when Halloween and Friday Night Football collide, we celebrate BIG!

Since the game was at home that night, our little town did trick-or-treating on Thursday night.  I don't have a little one to take, but I enjoy going with the younger kids in our family.

Speaking of football, it's been another fun year watching our Nick Marshall lead his Auburn Tigers on the field!

There are alot of Auburn fans in Scott's family, so we recently celebrated a birthday and Auburn win all in one night.  So much fun!

Well, there's probably more I could talk about, but that's the highlights.  I'll try to get back to a more normal posting schedule.  Lord knows, I hate it when I have to play "catch up".  I always feel like I'm leaving out something important.  I want this blog to not only be a creative space for me, but a place where family memories are recorded for future generations.

I hope this will be a place where my son can go when he's feeling a little home sick and get a taste of home and be reminded of how much I love him and how proud I am of him.  Speaking of Dillan, I can't go without showing you a couple of his latest modeling pics.......

He continues to stay busy working on his acting career also.  He's worked regularly on the set of the hit show, "The Originals" and got a call-back for a part he auditioned for in a movie to be filmed next summer.

We don't get to see him nearly enough, but thankfully he's home for the Thanksgiving holiday!  I'm hosting this year, so we'll have the whole family here for lunch tomorrow and leftovers and burgers for supper.  We'll also be enjoying some Black Friday shopping this Friday.

I'm so thankful for all that God's blessed me with, but most of all, I'm thankful for my salvation and the family that he blessed me with.  I hope each of you have a great day tomorrow with family and friends.  And remember, if you know someone who is lonely or hurting, take the time to be a blessing to them tomorrow as well.

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!
