Oh happy day!

Well, the big day came and went....
but not without some love, encouragement, and a handful of candy corn ;)

The first book signing for God's Gals left me feeling so thankful and appreciative.  Thankful for a God who hears my prayers and never leaves me feeling alone in the things He calls me to do.  Thankful for family, friends, and strangers who took the time to stop by to get their copies signed or purchase one for a special girl in their life.

Thankful for a mama who cares about the little things like tablecloths and runners.

 ......and thankful for candy corn!
When we break out the candy corn, it's officially FALL!

It goes without saying that I'm thankful for my son.  I love him with every ounce of my being - and he loves his mama too!  I'm so glad that he loves spending time with his family :)

Me and Dillan with my mama

In the tri-county area where I live, there are several people over the years who have written books.  There are two women, in particular, that I have the honor of knowing.  They are both awesome women who have a great gift for writing.  They both stopped by Saturday to show their support as well.

Me and author, Nancy Gibbs

Me and author, Patsy Grimsley

Scott was out of town Saturday, so that's why there are no pictures of him.  After the event, Dillan and I grabbed a bite to eat and then headed home for a relaxing evening.  I had been running on adrenaline all week trying to get school work done, so I almost collapsed by bed time.

We had a family lunch at my mom's Sunday after church.  With school work done and the book signing behind me, I was able to enjoy my Sunday afternoon and even get a good nap that afternoon!

It was a good weekend - and a great way to start the fall season!
