snips & snails & puppy dogs tails.....and turtles!

There's not a lot that's more exciting than sharing in the birth of a baby.  It's so much fun to prepare for those precious little bundles that changes our lives in ways we cannot imagine!

For a couple of months now, I've been planning a baby shower for a long time friend of my son's.  Last Saturday we gathered in my home with her family and friends to help her celebrate the little life she is carrying.

The mother-to-be loves turtles, so when I was planning the decorations for the shower, I decided to use a turtle theme.  With a green & blue color scheme and the help of a friend who bakes, I was able to put together a sweet little shower that any little boy would be proud of.

Notice the little green turtle in the corsage :)

Deciding on the color of table cloths and picking out fabric for table runners was the first thing I did.  I borrowed two white cloths from my mom and found a blue/green plaid fabric for her to sew into runners.

I have to say, it's so nice having a mother that can sew!

I found cute green plates and napkins that resembled turtle shells at Hobby Lobby.

I set the food table up in the dining room.  The centerpiece was a small asparagus fern, a succulent, and monkey grass I arranged in a green ceramic bowl I've had for years.

My friend, Toria, did the baking for me.  She made key lime cupcakes and turtle shaped cookies.  She also made fondant turtles that you see sitting around on the tables for decoration...so cute :)

We also had small sandwiches, chips & dip, a vegetable tray, cheese ball & crackers, and assorted nuts.  You know, typical shower food.  It was very good!

I served delicious punch and bottled water in the breakfast room area.

She received so many great gifts to welcome her little one :)

opening gifts...........

It's hard to see in this picture, but this onesie says, "itty bitty baptist" lol!

Mr. Logan was there too :)  He loves a party!

And Miss Lucy even made a new friend!

Addison chased Lucy all around the living room!

It was a good afternoon and I really enjoyed hosting this shower for Crystal.  I'm praying that the rest of her pregnancy will go well and that she will have an easy delivery.
