Rice Krispies Treats Footballs

Made these treats for our Homecoming football house party

Found the recipe on Pinterest...so easy!
Here's what you need:

box of original size Rice Krispies Treats (16/box)

14 oz. caramels and 12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
and 1 tablespoon of water

Open the Rice Krispies Treats and cut off approximately 1/4" from corners
so they resemble the shape of footballs

They will look like this....

Instead of having to unwrap caramels, I bought caramel bits.
Add 1 tbsp. of water and microwave for 30 second intervals,
stirring after each interval until completed melted.

Dip one side of the treat in the caramel and allow to cool

You may want to spread them out so they won't touch.  If they do, they will easily stick together

Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave at 30 second intervals until completely melted.
Place melted chocolate into small zip-lock bag. Cut very small corner of bag to provide opening through which to squeeze out the chocolate. Drizzle chocolate over caramel to resemble stitching on a football.

Dillan actually did the stitching for me.  He has a much steadier hand!  I guess it's the artist in him :)

Serve at room temperature
