it's ok to be fruity

Ok....so it's been a while since I did an update on my journey to better health.  So I thought I'd catch you up to speed.  Since I'm too lazy at the moment to look back at my previous blog posts to see what I last said, I'll start with this.  Here's what I'm doing in the way of exercise right now:

If you'll remember, the first dvd workout I did was also by JM....and it focused on core.  This one is for trouble zones - love handles, muffin tops, wobbly arms, etc.  I thought this workout would be good to tweak what I had going on.  The morning after my first day of this workout, I was even more sore through my abs than with the core workout! It even hurt to cough!!

You have to have two 3 lb weights for this and it is very challenging.  I set out to do this at least 3 days each week with some walking in between.  I had lost 9 pounds and I don't know how much body fat (which is what really thrilled me!) and decided I really didn't need to try to lose more...just maintain.  So I figured 2-3 days exercise would be good for that.  But I have to fess up....I have not always got in all my workouts since starting this. I don't know if it's the result of some busy weeks, laziness from family vacation or the heat of summer in general, but I've got to do better. 

I got on the scale the other day and had gained 2 lbs back [gasp!].  I almost freaked, but that's what I get for being lazy the past couple of months.  I had also assumed I'd naturally lose more weight as my body got more in "balance", but I may be at a stand still until my next blood test to see where I am now as far as my hormone levels. 

I feel like something is going on with my adrenal system again.  I have an appointment with Dr. Haire the first of September to do more blood work and check on my progress.  That's been the plan since my last visit.  I'm glad that around that same time, I will also be able to do a complete body cleanse again because I feel like I need it!  Remember how I went through the pollen season this spring and didn't have any problems for the first time in years?  Well, for some strange reason, a couple of months ago, I started with the occasional sneezing and runny nose..just like it was spring!  I really think it's the result of toxins building up in my system again.  From what I understand, it's good to do a body cleanse 1-2 times every year for that one reason.  No matter how health conscious we are, we are going to run into toxins that affect us....some of us more than others.

In the way of food, I'm not really doing anything new.  I try new GF products here and there when we run across them in Publix.  I also cheat a little here and there...well, maybe a little too much during vacation :(  But that's what vacations are for, right? 

I'm about to try to make my own GF bread.  I've gotten a little tired of that I've been buying in the frozen foods.  I don't know why, but for some reason, now it seems to nearly choke me when I eat it.  You know what it's like eating a dry sandwich?  Well, that's what it seems like to me now no matter how much condiment is on my sandwich.  Maybe it's a mind thing, I don't know.  But I'm tired of eating it.  I'm just being honest.   

I'm also getting lazy packing my work lunches during the week.  Sometimes it just seems like too much effort and I will either not eat or eat the same thing over and over again.  No wonder I'm getting burn out!  Yep, the lazy days of summer have made me lazy, but diets and eating plans can get old sometimes.  We have to swap things up a bit. 

Well, that's about it for now.  I'll be having blood work done again this month and will report the results to you after that.
