beach inspired tablescape

My family just returned from our beach vacation, so I decided to go with a beach theme in the breakfast room to help us continue to celebrate the lazy days of summer...not many left now!

I already had all of these items on hand, so it was a quick and easy setup.

The first thing I grabbed was my "Relax on Vacation" Willow Lake blue candle.....reminds me of the beautiful water we saw at Panama City Beach on this trip :)  I had plenty of shells on hand and a small bag of sand, so I decided to place them around the candle on a pewter charger in the center of the table.

Before that, I pulled out a beige colored table cloth (the color of beach sand) and a floral patterned runner my mom made for me for a shower I hosted last year.  The runner has beautiful blue, brown, and cream colors on it, with a hint of green - almost a tropical look to it.

On each side of the charger/candle, I placed a glass bottle (saved from Starbucks Fraps).  I filled the bottles with water and two different wild grasses growing in the woods by our house.  I looked around for some type of white wild flowers, but couldn't find anything blooming at all :(  That's when I remembered these white blossoms in my artificial flower stash!  I wouldn't typically mix fake flowers with anything live, but I was ready to complete this sweet little tablescape for our enjoyment.

While on our beach vacation, I grabbed up a couple of beautifully painted shells and also found silver and gold candles in the shape of cubes.  I thought they looked great in this tablescape as well.

I placed them next to each of the frap bottles

Here's a closer look at the gold painted one and the silver candle cube.

I added blue napkins under the stemware for a pop of color and my white napkins with wood napkin rings on solid white dinner plates.  Overall, I'm pretty pleased with how this table turned out.

After completing my table and snapping the first pictures for this post (at night...sorry for the lighting!), you would know I would find something else to add to the table...and I just had to share it with y'all.  I took these pictures during the day and they look a little better.

I saw these pretty blue glass stones in Walmart and thought they would look great in the glass bottles.  If I was going to use them, I decided I didn't need the water and anything live in the bottles, so I picked up a couple of stalks of these dainty little summer flowers in the craft section.

and then I saw these pretty shell trays at the Dollar Tree...
(I love the lighting in this pic....I really need to invest in a better camera to make it easier)
They are the perfect colors and look so great with the table runner!

This tablescape was alot of fun to put together.  I'm already brain storming about the next one :)
