Exciting Times & Crazy Daze

My schedule this week could not get more hectic!  Next week is my last week of class, so I've got 3 research papers due by Monday along with all the other regular school work.  Of course, this is all mixed in with working and getting ready for Dillan's graduation on the 19th.  If I make it through these next couple of weeks, I'll be home free!  My home life will go back to what it was before.  When coming home from work, I'll be able to enjoy cooking more often for my family again....I'm sure Scott and Dillan will appreciate this!

I'll also be able to get my house work under control again.  Alot of things have gone lacking a little since I've been in school.  It's been hard to do the heavy cleaning as often as I'd like.  Sometimes it's been right before having company over for a meal....but that's motivation to get it done!  I don't know about you, but I always feel so good when my house is clean and organized.  A clean and organized home always functions better.  And I actually enjoy caring for my home.  I know it may sound tacky, but I have a 'Home & Garden' notebook to keep up with the little projects that need to be done.  I also keep pictures from magazines and such as  inspiration for future projects.

We got graduation invitations mailed out last week.  That's one more thing to get checked off my to-do list!

And speaking of projects.....guess what the Mister did for me?  He planted me some watermelons!!  Yippee!!!  I hope they make because I LOVE me some good watermelon!  I don't like to have to buy them in the store since they're grown everywhere around here.  But I hate to ask farmers for them...especially as many as I like to eat!  Did you know that I can eat one by myself?  Yes ma'am.....usually just 1/2 at a sittng...then I'll eat the other half later that day.  They are so good....and good for you.  He also planted us some tomatoes, squash, and peppers.

you see them? very tiny little row of melons

Let's change gears a bit..........  Here's a peek at what I've got coming up on my schedule to prepare for:

Sunday, May 6th  - Baccalaureate Service for our church's graduates. I sing with the Prasie Team and we will also be providing the special music.  I sure hope I don't cry!  At least not the 'ugly cry'!

May 11th...my last day of class!  I will be an official graduate of Liberty University with my BS Psychology - Christian Counseling Specialization.

May 11th is also Honor's Day at the high school.  Dillan will be receiving awards as an Honor Grad, plus a scholarship award/s

Sunday, May 13th is Mother's Day!  It's become one of my favorite holidays as Dillan has gotten older.  He always makes a point to tell me he loves me and appreciates me and that means the world when they are old enough to say that unprompted by the other parent.  I'm also blessed enough to still have my mama around and I enjoy spending that day trying to make her feel special :)  But Mother's Day this year will be a mixture of emotions.  It's also my daddy's birthday.  I sure wish he was here to see Dillan graduate.  He would have been so proud of him.

May 19th is Dillan's high school graduation!!!  I know it will be a very emotional day.  I'm so proud of him and very excited about all the family that will attend.  We are having a graduation party/lunch at our home that day and I look forward to everyone gathering to help us celebrate.  That afternoon Scott and I will take him and my BIL, Chuck to catch a plane to New York for Dillan's senior trip!  Exciting, isn't it?!    Not only are Dillan and I graduating, Chuck is also graduating from seminary on May 18th.  They will attend his ceremony in Wake Forest, NC and then hurry down here to be here for Dillan's.  It wouldn't be the same without them.

VACATION starts for me on May 21st - 29th !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  With Dillan out of town, Lucy and I have decided to take a vacation and travel with Scott out of town for his work.  While he's busy working, she and I will sleep late, watch movies that came out the last 2 years that I never had time to see, and I will spend the afternoons by the pool at the hotel.  Y'all just don't know how much I look forward to this rest.  It's been a long time coming!

May 25th - Scott and I, along with his son, Austin and my mom, will travel to Wake Forest, NC to Shaana and Chuck's to pick Dillan up from their trip to New York.  We will spend the Memorial Day weekend holiday with them.  It sure will be hard to go back to work on May 30th!

So as you can see, there will be lots to blog about over the next few weeks.  I'll be in touch!
