5th Week: Journey to Better Health

Well, I just finished up my 5th week this week!  No changes with my weight this week, but as I said before, I think I'll see a few more pounds come off when my hormone levels are corrected.....still waiting on test results.

But boy do I wish I could get some accurate measurements to see the difference from week 2 to week 5!  I'm comfortably wearing things I haven't even attempted to wear in a couple of years!  I think the core/ab workouts I'm doing with the JM dvd is the reason for it.  This week is my last week of the 6 week video, but I'm sure I'll continue to do it weekly from here on out for a while.  Of course, I also need to switch things up a bit and do some other exercises.  When your muscles get used to doing the same thing over and over, you quit seeing results.

I've told y'all how much I love the almond milk (with vanilla).  Well, this week, I also tried the original.  I actually like it better in my cereals, but prefer that with vanilla when I just want a cup to drink.

The V8 V-Fusion Smoothie is also good!  I can't remember if I mentioned it before, but I drink it right after a workout.  It helps keep me from getting "the shakes"....you know, that feeling you get when your blood sugar drops?  I used to get that way alot when I would diet and exercise.  Now I only get that way occasionally because I learned that's it's better to work out after you've eaten a meal....not first thing in the morning before having breakfast.  I think that's the main thing keeping me from feeling like that.

I'll also be trying this new bread that my brother-in-law gave me.  They also have to purchase wheat- free products for their daughter who has alot of food allergies.  They had this in the freezer and gave it to me last night to try.  I found out they buy groceries at Publix because they offer a much bigger selection of organic and health foods as well as gluten-free products.  I'll have to travel further to buy groceries, but it will be worth it to have a good variety of foods I can enjoy.
Well, that's about it for now.  I'll be talking to you soon!
