3rd Week: Journey to Better Health

I'm a day late getting this post done... it's been really busy around here!  But I wanted to update you on my third week.

I lost 1 more pound! Yay me!!!  I've always heard that when the weight comes off slowly, it's a good sign.  So that's 6 pounds altogether in 3 weeks :)  We tried to get my body measurements to see the difference after 2 weeks, but had a little problem :(  If you don't put the tape measure in exactly the same place each time, (which is probably impossible) it WILL differ - lol!  I know I havent' gained an inch in my waist, so I think I'll forget about using a tape measure ;)  My clothes feel differently.....that's the main thing.  And guess what?  Tonight at church, my aunt asked me what I had been eating because she could tell I had lost some weight......Yes! That's what I want to hear!

I am now on the liver cleanse to complete my 2 month body cleanse.  I started it on Wednesday and will be on it for 30 days.  I still don't have the results of my blood work, so the doctor is still out on that issue.  I can't wait to find out what she'll do to address my wacky hormones levels.

I finally got to try some oatmeal bread....the kind I can actually eat.  It has no wheat in it.  A lady I work with had some and brought me a couple of pieces to see if I like it....and I did.  She bought it in Florida, so I don't know how often I will be able to purchase it.  Maybe I need to try my hand at making GF bread?  It's not anything I'd do alot because I really don't need to eat it that often....and I don't think it would be too time-consuming for me to make it from time to time.

I also made some gluten-free chocolate chip cookies last week for a family lunch.  I was asked to bring dessert, so I decided I'd bring something that I could have too.....and they were very yum :)  You'd never guess that there was anything different about them.  I only ate one that day and a couple the next day.  I actually threw away what was left!  The old me would have eaten EVERY SINGLE COOKIE over a few days time.

Other than egg salad, I've been pretty much still eating the same type foods.  We've been grilling alot now that the weather is warm.  Grilling is an excellent way to prepare foods of any kind.

Well, that's about it for now.  I've got a birthday post to work on :)
