Since the time change, I've been slowly getting the house ready for Easter.
I absolutely love pulling out the decorations I've saved over the years.
After a long cold winter (well this one was rather mild, wasn't it?) it's nice to see the warm colors of spring all around the house.

I always try to have a seasonal display in the foyer.
This is my favorite piece of furniture in the house. It's so versatile for decorating!
I display my egg cups here along with a few of my other Easter faves:
an old Peter Rabbit ceramic water can and a nest full of tulips
This cake plate was a great find at Hobby Lobby!
I also collect cake plates.
I decided to do something different on my mantel in the LR this year.
I usually don't swap it up much except at Christmas, but I wanted to bring in some light green shades for spring to lighten up the room. Here's what I came up with:
old books and some vintage-looking rabbits
fake moss, greenery from tree branches, and a framed print of birds
The birdhouse chapel is also a favorite of mine along with a ceramic of Jesus kneeling in the Garden of Gethsemane. These two take center stage on the mantel.

I filled a long basket and crystal candle sticks with Easter grass, eggs, and Peeps :)
After Easter is over, I will leave some of the green elements in the LR. I'd like to find some new throw pillows for the couch in a light green shade to bring in a little more spring color.
Decorating is NEVER done around here. I'm always looking ahead to the next season to make a few minor changes in my home. Isnt' it fun to piddle around the house and swap things up a bit!
HAPPY EASTER TO EACH OF YOU!

Thank you for joining Your Cozy Home Party. You have some really cute Easter things around your house. I especially like the way you decorated your mantel. I have a cute birdhouse that I use for Christmas but hadn't thought to use it for Easter. Thanks for the idea. Hope you will come next week, too.-------- Shannon
