a book review: You're Already Amazing by Holley Gerth

You're Already Amazing!  In her new book, Holley Gerth helps you understand and embrace the truth that as a woman, you do not need to do more, be more, and have more---because you are already amazing just the way God created you to be.
 (My Thoughts on this Book)

I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel!  I have eight more weeks of school and I will have completed my BS Psychology /Christian Counseling.  As a non-traditional student in my forties, it was difficult for me to make the decision of going back to college after all these years.
I had prayed about it for some time and felt like the Lord was giving me the go-ahead.  So I did.  The past two years have been difficult while trying to maintain full time work/school schedules along with caring for my family.  God has been faithful to me, though.  He has stood by me and given me the strength and encouragement to keep pressing to reach my goal.
There have been times during this season of my life that Satan has whispered so many lies to me.  Satan wanted me to quit as he constantly told me that I’d never pass some of the classes.  He also tried to make me feel that no amount of education would ever make me good enough.
Holley Gerth’s book, You’re Already Amazing has come at the perfect time for me.  I read the majority of the book recently while observing our school’s spring break week.  It was a time for me to reflect on my accomplishments and to remember how faithful God has been to me.  He will stay by my side these last eight weeks and help me complete my last two classes for my bachelor’s degree.
Holley reminds us that we are going to have different phases of our lives.  Like the children of Israel, sometimes we will encamp and sometimes we will set out.  God has a journey for each of us and He will be on that journey with us.
I feel like I have been encamped the last two years as I’ve maintained the stressful lifestyle of a student.  I’ve waited on God during this time to give me clear direction for my new career path.  As graduation nears, I will set out on a new journey.  Not only will I be looking to change careers, my son will also graduate from high school and head off to college this fall.  Talk about a new journey!  I’ll also have an empty nest, but I’ll try to make God my “ultimate destination”.
