Scripture Memorization

Here's my next verse:

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men"
Colossians 3:23

This verse is really speaking to me right now.  Sometimes I find it hard to "work" with the right attitude.  Because I am a perfectionist (and that's not necessarily a good trait) I tend to go above and beyond what's required.  I believe in being organized and getting things done - ON TIME!  But not everybody shares this view - lol!

While I believe this is a good work ethic, it sometimes causes others to look at me as if I'm are a "party pooper", you know.....all work and no play.  And that couldn't be further from the truth!  Those who know me, know that I love to laugh and have a good time.  But it's hard for me to do that when I see things going "undone" or when people assume someone else will do their job for them.   Worse yet, when others just plain and simple don't care.

Your environment can really affect your attitude about your work and your goals to get things accomplished.  When you feel appreciated, whether at home or on the job, it's easy to carry on and enjoy what you do - no matter how menial the task.  Likewise, when you don't feel appreciated or you feel taken for granted, it's easy to just quit caring.  And that's not what Jesus wants.

I'm trying to remind myself that Jesus is always watching and He knows what I'm doing.  He sees when I take on responsibilities that no one else wants.  He sees when I use my spare time to do a task for someone even when it will go unappreciated.  He sees when I put the buggy up even when it's flooding rain!

If we can't be trusted to do the littlest things that we are responsible for, then why should God reward us with bigger things?  And ATTITUDE is everything!!!  When you have a good one, it rubs off on others and they want to do their best :)  And when you have a bad one, you not only hurt others, but you hurt yourself.

I want to do my best at all times because in reality, it's not about NOW and it's not about HERE.  It's all about HIM and OUR JOURNEY TO ETERNITY!
