It's My Birthday and I'll Cry If I Want To!

Forty-one years ago today, a little girl named Andrea Lynn Futch came into this world.  I'm not sure what my parents expected - other than for me to be a boy - ha! That was back before sonograms, so they really didn't know.  They just thought I was a boy because Mama was bigger while carrying me.  (My daddy always did want a son, but got stuck with 4 girls...he learned to love it, though).  I did wind up being her biggest baby...weighed almost 9 pounds!

But yeah............. it's my 41st Birthday! Wow!  It feels pretty good so far :)

The first thing I did this morning when I got to work was check my email.  Of course, anything posted on my Facebook wall shows up in my inbox.  And you all made me cry with all of the birthday wishes! [sniff sniff]   I'm serious...there were so many and it was way early in the morning.  I was so surprised and it really did bring tears to my eyes.  I just feel so loved :)

But I'm not the only girl with a birthday today........Miss Lucy is 3 years old!

I was going to bake her some 'whole wheat' peanut butter doggie treats this weekend, but I got lazy and didn't get it done.  I'll save that for her Valentines gift.  I did make sure she had a new toy for her big day :) That shouldn't surprise you ;)

Her new raccoon

This picture cracked me up! I wonder what she's thinking?
Scott was off work today and since Dillan didn't have school, they came to Cordele and picked me up for a lunch date :)  I had lunch with the rest of my family yesterday after church.  Mama has always had a special dinner or supper for us on our birthday...a special cake too.  Don't think she's gonna let us get by without singing 'Happy Birthday' and blowing out candles either...no way!

This was from Mama & Suzanne. I've been wanting a new arrangement for my dining room :)

A gift from my sister, Lisa. I've been wanting this book!
Sorry, my Democratic friends, but George Bush is my favorite elephant ;)
I think my sisters look forward to our  birthday get-togethers as much as I do.  The only bad thing about the day is not having our daddy around.  I miss him all the time.....ALOT on holidays, but especially on my birthday.

But it's been a great day and I'm looking forward to many more birthdays - wrinkles and all!  I've learned alot about life in my 41 years and I've learned ALOT more about myself even in the last 10.  It's so funny how much we change over the years.  What used to be important to us sometimes changes so drastically.

It's my hope and prayer that I will continue to make changes in my life that will reflect my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  I'm thankful for this life He gave me and I want to be not only what He wants me to be, but to accomplish the task He has for me.  I want more of HIM and less of ME :)

Thank you sweet Jesus for the gift of life!
