Dream Big

I'm sitting at work right now.  Not alot is going on, so I thought I'd type a post real quick.  I was just looking at my email and received my daily devotion passage from Family Life Radio.  It's so appropriate for what's on my mind today, so I thought I'd share it with you:

"You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore." (Psalm 16:11 NKJV)

As you consider one thing you can do today to bring your dream one step closer to reality, remember that God cooperates with your efforts, revealing insights, opening doors, placing "crumbs" along the path that tell you you're on the right track.  It is a "God-inspired" dream because you aren't doing it alone.  The Lord Himself is directing your paths.

A dream worth pursuing gives you a path to follow -- make sure you're taking each step with the Lord, today.  Read Romans 8: 28-31 NKJV.

If you're like me, you have dreams that you have yet seen fulfilled.  And there's nothing like a new year with new opportunities to bring your dreams back to life!

As I'm typing this, I hear the sound of loud clapping and cheering in the distance.  Our facility here at work allows businesses and organizations to use rooms for meetings, etc.  As I speak, Advance Auto Parts is doing their group cheer - ha!  You know what I mean....you've overheard this same thing in Walmart if you've ever gone into the store in the early morning hours.  They get together in a big group and clap in unison, hollering out the name of their store. Haaaaaaaaa!  Too funny!  I've always said I wouldn't be caught dead doing such - no matter how much I mighty like my job.

But as I thought about this and everything else on my mind concerning our God-given dreams, something occurred to me.  I bet there's applause and cheering from heaven when one of God's children takes a step or walks through the door of opportunity that leads to a God-given dream being fulfilled.  We know it happens when a sinner comes to salvation.  So why not cheer for some of the smaller things in life as well?  And as brothers and sisters in Christ, we should also be cheering each other on, encouraging each other to chase down those dreams!

I've been praying for some time for God to give me a particular desire of my heart.  His Word reminds us that He longs to do just that.  I'm anxiously awaiting and hoping that this will be the year!

What about you?  Have you given up on a dream?  Don't be afraid to take a step of faith today to make that dream a reality.  God is with you.  God is for you.  Trust Him to walk with you each step.
