PurpleStride

I apologize in advance for the unclear pics...I loaded them wrong and when I tried to enlarge them on here, it just made them fuzzy....oops!
Some of my family members decided to participate in "PurpleStride", a 5k run/walk designed to raise awareness and funds for Pancreatic cancer research. My father passed away from this terrible disease three years ago and we will never forget how devastating it was to our family. The event was held last Sunday, Nov. 7th, in Raleigh, NC on a very COLD fall day. There were 700 participants and a huge amount of money was raised. The goal was $25,000 and we raised around $85,000.00!!! Isn't that great?!
A view from the starting line
We had these shirts made to wear at our local Relay for Life the year Daddy died. We wore them again for this race in memory of him. They say: "In Loving Memory of Papa"

My sweet mama :)

This picture was taken after the race. From left to right are the runners/walkers:
My sister, Shaana; her son, Evan; Mama; Me

Evan coming in for his big finish....he placed 5th!

Here comes Shaana!

Shaana coming out to greet us. I stayed behind and walked with mama....
I couldn't have run far anyway!

Walking in to the finish line together!
