Class of 2012: Official Ring Ceremony

Well, it's official.....Dillan is now a member of the Class of 2012!!!
They had a small ceremony for the kids last night to get their class rings. We've waited a long 3-4 months since ordering them to get this hardware!
I have to admit, I was disappointed that they held it in the cafeteria. We used to have a "cafetorium", but they did away with that. To make matters worse, they tore down the old auditorium that stood at our high school for YEARS...so we only have the gym for such ceremonies. And the school does a good job of fixing up the gym, but they didn't use it last night. I wish they would've at least let the kids stand on the other side of the room where there was nice brick wall - as opposed to the side of the lunch room where they pick up their plates!
Anyway, at least they attempted to make it special for them.
Dillan was asked to give the Invocation for the ceremony. He did a great job! I love to see a young person not be afraid to pray in public. And I LOVE that our school still allows prayer! Can I get an AMEN on that?
Here are the four students chosen to have a part in the ceremony.

Our girls softball team arrived just in time for the ceremony - they didn't have time to even change, bless their hearts - lol! It was fine though...it was a casual ceremony anyway...especially while being in the lunchroom - Ha!

The looks on their faces are amusing..LOL!

I don't know about some parents, but I love being a part of EVERYTHING in my child's life. Of course, I allow him plenty of time and personal space, I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about making the time to attend such functions. I believe parents should support their kids in all of their activities. If we can't attend something, we should still make sure they know we care and that we are praying for them. They grow up so fast and I don't want to look back and have regrets about not making time to be with my child. If something matters to him....it matters to me!
What is everyone up to this weekend? Looks like we've got some fall weather headed our way! Yahoo!! We've got a football game to go to tonight! I can hardly wait! Let's Go Wilcox County Patriots!
Y'all have a great weekend!
