Father's Day

My daddy, Georgie T. Futch, Jr.
I just wanted to take a minute to wish a Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. It's been a strange one for us this year because our boys are at church camp and won't be home until tomorrow. It's weird enough for me on Father's Day now that my father has passed away. I admit, it gets a little easier each year, but it never fails...toward the end of the preacher's sermon, I always have tears streaming down my face. I am thankful, though, that I will see him again one day in heaven. Until then, I'll just have to hold on to the good memories. I'm very grateful that I had a good daddy that was there for us and always worked hard to provide for his family. And I have many good memories of deer hunting, vacations, and just hanging out with him. As soon as I shed tears from missing him, something always comes to mind to make me laugh......he had a way with words! My family still imitates him!
If your dad's still living, be sure to let him know you love him. If you are married and have kids, make sure you let your husband know you appreciate him and make sure your kids give him a big bear hug on this special day :)
