Was Blind But Now I See

This is not a current photo of Lucy. She lost one of her eyes after one of the surgeries and we haven't taken any photos of her yet. We've had to cancel groomer appointments in order to give her plenty of time to heal. Needless to say, she is in desperate need of a haircut! She'll be getting her "hair done" tomorow and I'll post a current photo of our sweet girl.
One week ago today, our little Lucy miraculously was able to see again. I say miraculously because even though the vets said she could detect some light at times, she was still blind. Dillan sent me a text that day at work and said that she was acting like her "old self" and that she could see. I was afraid to get my hopes up, but he was right! We watched her for a couple of days to make sure it was really happening, that she hadn't memorized certain areas of the house to feel free to run and play. It's true - she can definitely see us! It's been such a huge relief to see her play with her toys and run up and down the hall. And taking her outside to potty is so much easier. She can walk out on her own and take care of business without us having to worry and walk beside her each step.

It's been a long two months since she was hurt. I've wondered so many times since then why this all had to happen and what we might learn from it. I know she's just a dog and I can promise you that my priorities are as they should be. We just love her so much and she brings so much joy and laugher into our lives. I know there's a story in all of this and I'm sure I'll be writing about it soon. That's kinda what I do....look for God in "every day life". There are no coincidences and we can know that God is always working .... even behind the scenes :)
