Fruit Matters

What an AWESOME time we had at the 3rd Annual Women's Conference at First Baptist Rochelle! The theme for the conference was "Fruit Matters" and our scripture verse was Galatians 5:22-23. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control" - NIV
I always enjoy such events - being in a room full women from all walks of life. Although we all may have arrived with different concerns, problems, and personalities, something happens when the Holy Spirit shows up! We become one body of believers - encouraging and strengthening one another. And yes, there are always some in attendance who are not believers, but what an opportunity we have to minister to our sisters in Christ. I praise the Lord for the Salvation of one young lady in attendance, and I feel there were many more recommitments.

I've thought alot about "fruit" this week and I've been encouraged to strive harder to bear more fruit as I grow in my relationship with Christ. I want my life to be a garden, no a paradise, of fruit that makes it so blatantly obvious that I'm a daughter of the King. Although I will continue to stumble and make mistakes, I'm so grateful that the Gardener will come by and pick up my dying branches, wipe away the dirt and grime from my leaves, and secure me to the vine.
